DS Homebrew - Run DOS On Your Nintendo 3DS

Although not very useful, this totally free app is quite darn neat. DS-DOS lets you run the earlier versions of MS Dos right on your Nintendo 3DS using the r4i 3ds. As stated, it is not completely functional, but gives you a good concept of what DOS could be like on a hand held portable method.

It is a text based application which will let you carry out most simple dos commands like copy, paste, rename, and so on… You won’t be running Duke Nukem or anything like that, but we are hopeful that the developer will continue to work on it, and will ultimately make that happen. Absolutely nothing could be sweeter than getting able to use it like DosBox on a Windows or MAC pc. Being able to install those old cool dos games and giving them a great play via would be the incing on a cake. But I realize you will find those of us gamers that haven’t even ever had to load in to Dos, a lot less use it. With that in mind, it is quite neat to see just what we had to do and go via just before windows and icons, etc..

Cool 3DS Homebrew Game - Tyran Shooter

There are numerous Neo Geo video games out there. They had been among the best games ever seen before when examining old fashioned home gaming systems. You can play all of them on your DSi or even 3DS nowadays having an R4 3DS card from the guys at http://www.r43ds.org : the particular emulator is free, and you’ll find the games on the web fairly quickly. If you are keen on your neo geo, you will know how awesome the game titles have been. If you never had one, this is the chance to really give them with a try, and also participate in these games from start to finish!

3 Count bout was not a great video game, of the we are selected, nonetheless it had been the first game design battling sport which graced each of our Television set window screens with the Neo Geo house program. Nowadays I am playign this by using an R4 ds revolution 3DS credit card coming from R43ds.net and also the neoDS emulator, which includes my personal 3DS believing that it for some reason morphen into a neo geo program. Very neat huh? I do think consequently.

3 Count Bout was the only fumbling video game that’s every single introduced on the Neo Geo method. Once the WWF would be a huge struck in the news, Three or more Depend Bout delivered the standard Western style images as well as wresting towards the Neo Geo. This is the sport that we remember fondly the most out of my own times at the arcade exactly where My partner and i given quarters into the arc device hoping to beat the game (My spouse and i in no way did, constantly happened to run out of income) and also had been really pleased if this stumbled on the property MVS Neo Geo, because it intended I possibly could get involved in it and make ongoing and never having to commit money.

The action performs very well about the 3DS. This has a great carry out using the NeoDS emulator which has been improved and up to date along with worked on to ensure it can be appropriate and may run every Neo Geo sport and also it is possible. If you’re looking for several Japanese fashion fumbling, provide a shot.

R4 3DS and R4i 3DS Receive Firmware Update

The latest Nintendo 3DS, with the new low price was just introduced and retailers are now carrying this budget priced 3D game system.  But not only the price has changed.  All of these new 3DS consoles now come with the newest Version 2.1.3 of the system firmware.  This means that all R4 3DS and R4i 3DS cards are no longer recognized when you try to use these DS cards  for your homebrew and multimedia needs.

[[posterous-content:pid___0]]

The good news however is that the company behind the cards have released their own firmware update just days after the release of v2.1.3.  The new 1.43B kernel has added full support for these new Nintendo 3DS systems, and your R4 3DS will continue working and enabling you to store and load your homebrew, applications, games, movies and more.  Nothing as far as use has changed.  The menu remains the same, you have the added benefit of the easy to use user interface - everything that you were able to do before, is possible once again.

Some compatibility issues for some games have been fixed, and new updates added for cheat codes, and even the DSi side has been updated, to ensure continued compatibility with the newest DSi and DSI XL system update as well.

Rocking Out With Comic Books On My R4 DS Card And My nintendo 3DS - Ohhh Yeaa!

I love having the opportunity to write about the Nintendo R4 Card and NDS homebrew games in general. My love of all things to do with NDS homebrew is simple. I never cease to be amazed by the generosity of all of these hard working developers who have no problem letting all of us download and play their games. They don’t do it for the money (it’s free - remember?), and they certainy don’t do it for fame or any kind of commercial gain. They do it just simply because they love to make games, and love to have people play those games. I’m sure they must do it in part at least, for the pleasure they get from releasing a game title for free and having a huge number of Nintendo R4 DS users play them.

Comic-book-ds01

There’s a fascinating little homebrew game I uncovered a couple weeks ago called Brix DS. I am a very big fan of any kind of puzzle game, and especially puzzle games that try to stand out by being really unique or possess a different take on the puzzler genre. I’m sure you know what I mean - Not the mainstream type of puzzle game where you’re clearing blocks or matching colors, but puzzle games that are unique in their game play and more importantly, offer up a totally new kind of puzzle experience. Brix DS offers up just the kind of puzzle game I love, unique, different, great graphics and excellent puzzles. Brix DS in it’s third version - and Brix DS V3. has only gotten better. V3 of Brix DS brings the full number of stages to 73, with the addition of the 16 new stages which are added in this version.

The puzzle part of Brix is easy to explain: make sure that the dynamite does not touch the ground or fall off the bricks while you remove each row, or level of brick below it. As you work your way through the different levels you’ll find that with each one, you have a lot more thinking to do to ensure that your dynamite doesn’t smash to the ground and blow up. To make things even harder, there are certain bricks you won’t be able to remove (The dark grey bricks) so it really plays on your physics and planning, to ensure that the dynamite does not bounce off those bricks only to hit the ground. You may look at this and thing “That’s easy, I could balance the dynamite by removing those two bricks”, but the fact of the matter is, you aren’t able to just remove the bricks one after the other, you will have to wait while your player re-charges to be able ot break the next brick.

The game does do a fantasic job of progressively getting harder and harder. You’ll find yourself dealing with the first few levels with ease, only to realize there’s much more of challenge coming up in the later levels. This game has excellent replay value and you’ll be going back to it again and again, and if you’re lucky enough to have a Nintendo R4 DS card you can start playing it for free right away.

The biggest thing in my books that gives huge kudos to the developer of Brix DS is the way that he updates the game. In fact, several dozen new levels have been added since it’s v1 release, and V3 proves that this trend will continue. And it goes without saying that the updates themselves are absolutely free as well for anyone with a Nintendo R4 DS Card. You will not have to fork out any money at all for updates or new stages, etc. I have never even heard of, much less owned any commercial game that can boast that updates and new levels are free, not on the Nintendo DS or DSi anyway.

R4 DS Card, R4i SDHC or R4 3DS - The Right Card For Your console!

More choice = More confusion… or at least that’s the case most of the time.   If you’re into homebrew gaming on the DS or 3DS system or want to get into it, then you may be pretty confused with all of these R4 Cars out there.  Which one works?  Which one do you need to buy if you just have the DS Lite?  Good questions, all of them.  The fact is that there are so many fake and clone cards out there that finding out what card is right, is like looking through a bargain bin basket in some discount store.  Not because these items belong in the bargain bin, but because the fake clone cards do, and they have numerous models of each of those clones.

So how can I help you?  I don’t know if I can.  It depends on whether you want to buy the real R4 DS Card, the genuine one, or whether you want to simply spend $10.00 on some copy card, that unfortunately, and really, will not work past any single firmware update.  The sad truth is, they sell these cards as if they were real authentic cards, but they are not.  In the list below, you should get a good idea of which REAL card you need to get, depending on the which system you have right now - or plan to have in the future.

Without further ado… here is the run down on the R4 DS that will work on you system.  There are 2 stores that I have dealt with for these cards, and I can only speak for cards I have.  http://www.modchipstore.com is one of them, and R43DS.org is another that I have cards from, either directly (my own) or friends / relatives that have bought cards from them.

R4 DS Card for Nintendo DS and the DS Lite

r4 ds card

Here you’ll want to look at the original R4, this is the one that was made when just the DS was available, and it worked on the DS Lite too.  It’s the old stand by as I call it.  Whenever I wanna just take my DS lite with me, I always make sure I have my r4 ds card as well.

R4i SDHC For Nintendo DSI and DSi XL systems

r4i sdhc

The original R4 DS Card won’t work on the DSi and DSi XL.  But the guys behind the card made sure they have it covered with their R4i cards, which were designed and released just for the DSi and DSi XL.  With the DS and DS lite, there were cosmetic changes, but nothing changed on the inside, so to speak.  The DSi on the other hand was a complete overhaul of the DS console.  This was the card that brought SDHC support to the R4 brand, with cards up to 8 or 16GB in size being supported, it was a huge amount of space.

R4 3DS for the Nintendo 3DS system:

r4 3ds

If you have a Nintendo 3DS, not only are you lucky… you can also expect all of the same homebrew goodness on your new 3d hand held system.  There are 2 choices when it comes to the 3DS console.  You can use either the R4 3DS Card, or the R4i Gold card.  Both of them will work just fine on your new 3DS, and will let you play all of your DS and DSi homebrew games and media.  I have to say here that the both of the cards are backwards compatible with every previous version of Nintendos hand held systems.

I hope this quick breakdown will help you in avoiding the fake cards that will just cause you non stop headaches, and also, help you in making sure you choose the right card for your system.

iPhone 4 Unlock Sim - Gevey Unlocks iPhone 4 iOS 4

Iphone4big
While software unlocks have been available for the older iphone 3g and the iphone 3GS, the iPhone 4, with the latest firmware update and modem baseband has not been able to be unlocked purely by software alone.  IN fact, there is no way to actually unlock the phone without an iphone 4 unlock sim card like the Gevey Turbo Sim.  Before software only unlocks became available for the 3G and 3GS, the Gevey Sim was already available as a quick unlock method.  The great thing about the Gevey sim is that you don’t have to jailbreak your iphone 4, nor do you have to run custom firmware on the phone, which voids your warranty.  All that you have to do is simply put the unlock sim underneath your actual sim card in the tray, put your actual sim card on it, and you’re all set.  Quick step by step tutorial below.  So for those of you who have an iphone 4 that’s locked, or want an iphone 4, but can’t because your carrier doesn’t have them - this may just be the quick fix you need - without having to move to a different carrier, and without having to void your warranty.

STEP 1: Turn off your iPhone 4 and insert your SIM card and Gevey SIM together with the metal SIM tray provided.

STEP 2: Turn on your iPhone 4 and wait for the SIM welcome menu to show and the select “accept”.

STEP 3: At the beginning a “no service” message will show on your iPhone 4. DON’T do anything and wait until you see one signal bar appear on the top left corner.

STEP 4: After you see the signal bar dial “112″ and hang up within 2 seconds.

STEP 5: Turn on “Airplane Mood” and then turn off right away. Your iPhone 4 will show “SIM failure” and then “No SIM Card Installed”

STEP 6: Until the “No Sim Card Installed” message shows up turn on the “Airplane Mood” again and turn it off right away again. The “Sim failure” message will show and the signal will show up after a few seconds.

NOTE:

    * After all the steps above, if there is still no signal then power off your iPhone 4 and turn back on and repeat all the steps from beginning.

    * To use 3G network you need to turn on “Data Roaming”.
